A while ago, I received a comment from Thomas, suggesting that I compile a list of my favorite films from The Best Picture Project. What a great idea! So here are the top 25 films that I have enjoyed the most throughout my blogging adventure. It’s like concentrated cinema magic distilled from the nearly 500 films I have reviewed here.
Now, this is not in the spirit of listing the cinematic “Best” of the best. Only the people at AFI are crazy enough to tackle that unnervingly subjective task. These are simply the films I love. The ones that pulled me in right from the start and kept me on the edge of my seat. The ones that when I see it’s on TV, even with way too many commercials, I have to watch it. The ones I violently hush anyone who dares talk during the best parts. You have been warned. And while most of these just make me happy, others have made a more profound impact on my life than normal people would be willing to admit to.
Some of these I have loved for years, others I might have never taken the time to watch without doing this project. Enjoy a little extra exposure of my personal film tastes:
The French Connection
Little Miss Sunshine
On Golden Pond
ET: The Extra Terrestrial
Shakespeare in Love
The Red Shoes
Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope
