  1. You know what, I really didn’t find this film that great at all. Stylish, sure, and well made, definitely. But the character…. the character just fell flat to me, I couldn’t get “into” the story and in the end I just wanted it to be over. Plus, all the blood just made me feel icky. A musical shouldn’t be horrific.

Maybe I’ll have to rewatch soon just to make sure my initial feelings about it were correct, but as with most Tim Burton films I think it’s the characters who have the least development, resulting in a lesser film in my eyes.

  2. My main problem with the film is that I didn’t find any of the music itself very interesting. There are a couple of numbers that I liked but overall it wasn’t particularly memorable for me. That said, it’s still an enjoyable movie and by far Burton’s best since at least “Big Fish.”

    • Thanks Aaron, I also feel that his best movies from the past decade were this and Big Fish, with Corpse Bride rounding out a top 3. I’ll save those gems for another day. 🙂
