December is such a busy month for a mom. Between all the insane prep for Christmas, dealing with sick kids and then getting sick myself, I couldn’t devote as much time to my love of film. Reviews are in the works for a few films, and I’m itching to get ready for Oscar season, nominations coming on the 13th!
- Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker
- Klaus
- The Irishman
- Marriage Story
- Dolemite Is My Name
- Dolemite
- Little Women
In 2020 I plan to take on a new project. It’s become more and more apparent that the film industry is extremely male dominated. Most movies in theaters are directed by men and only a few by women. Very few of them are big box office busting names. This year I want to seek out and watch more films directed by women. My goal is to watch one a week, that means at least 52 new-to-me films by women. Reviews of many of these films I watch will be posted here, so stay tuned. You can bet there will be a review soon of Greta Gerwig’s Little Women and later in the year I’ll review Patty Jenkins sequel, Wonder Woman 1984. And if you’d like to suggest any films directed by women, old, new, foreign, indie, whathaveyou, please share them with me here. Thanks for reading.
